Science Fiction & Fantasy

Most gamers are big science fiction fans and with us it's no exception. While many of us did have large armies for Warhammer 40k, Space Hulk, and Epic, we got rid of them after realizing that the rules were ever changing and it was getting to be a never ending expense to keep up.

However, our urge to play these periods goes on, so we went to what we feel are better games, namely Warmaster and Warmachine. We do not play these too often and usually it's not on a regular gaming night. The reason is that we are a historical miniatures club and some of the members aren't too crazy about this period. So we generally focus on historicals and play these on the side.

Warmaster is certainly one of the best and most fun games for the fantasy genre. It certainly give that massed fantasy combat look and it plays fast. We've run games with close to 10,000 points a side, which are truly epic slugfests. We've also dabbled in Warmachine and a few members still have armies for this set of rules.

10mm figures by GW for Warmaster, 25mm figures by Privateer Press for Warmachine, and various ships for Full Thrust.

We have all of the factions for Warmachine and can easily do 8-10 player games. For Warmaster we have Elves, Orcs, Chaos, Undead, Empire, Skaven, Dark Elves, and Lizardmen.
