Dogs of War

Designed for modern day skirmish combat. Very detailed, but no vehicle rules as of yet.

Arc of Fire

A Sword and the Flame type set of rules that cover combat from 1900 to present day. Very good!

Post WW2 Combat

Our group has always been very interested in modern warfare, especially since most of us grew up gaming during the NATO/Warsaw Pact era. Several of us used to play huge games of modern micro-armor, simulating a Russian attack into Germany during the '80's. With the fall of the Soviet Empire and the rise to dominance of the U.S. military, we've found it a hard period to game.

Over the last year or so, we have found two sets of rules that have again tweaked our interest in the period. We use Dogs of War to simulate small unit actions with 25mm figures in Afghanistan, Iraq, or the Horn of Africa. We use Arc of Fire to simulate the years of fighting in Angola with the South Africans facing off against the Angolans and their Cuban allies.

We are looking to doing the 1973 Arab-Israeli War and there is always the nagging urge to try Vietnam at some point in the future. Also, we are always on the lookout for a new set of rules to game present day combat.

We use 25mm for Dogs of War and 15mm for Arc of Fire.

In 25mm we have U.S. Marines and Taliban/Iraqi insurgents. IN 15mm we have Cubans/Angolans vs. South Africa.
